If you're looking for a new Android tablet, there are plenty of cheap options. However, you want to be careful of the specifications because if some of the hardware isn't all there, you'll be looking at a pretty bad experience. And in the long run, that could be a costly mistake.
Luckily, there are a few affordable Android tablets that we can recommend, with our top choice being Samsung's Galaxy A9+. Not only are you getting a design that's sleek, but it also packs enough power to really handle all the things you want to get done on a tablet.
The hardware
This tablet hits a good middle ground when it comes to its specifications, offering just enough to be able to handle what most people care about. You get a powerful Qualcomm Snapdragon 695 processor, along with 8GB of RAM and 128GB of storage. While there is a 4GB model of this tablet that's even cheaper, we think the additional RAM in this particular model makes it well worth the slight price increase.
And if you're thinking that you need more storage space, you'll be happy to know that this tablet does have a microSD card slot, making it easy to expand. In addition, the Galaxy Tab A9+ has a crisp 11-inch LCD screen with a 90Hz refresh rate, making it perfect for basic tasks like web browsing, but also excels if you want to watch movies and play games.
The software
Samsung offers one of the better Android experiences on its product, while also delivering timely updates. The Galaxy Tab A9+ will receive Samsung's latest One UI 8.5 update, and will also receive security updates for many years to come. This last part is important because it can easily extend the life of the product.
It's a great time to buy
We liked the Galaxy Tab A9+ in our review. The device offered good build quality, and the software was a delight to use. Furthermore, the performance handled pretty much everything we threw at it, and the battery life was also great as well.
And more importantly, this all came in at a price that was affordable. Right now, you can pick up the Galaxy Tab A9+ at a discount, coming in at $190. It's a touch above the lowest price we've seen, but this bundle also comes with a cover stand included, which can be handy if you want a case for your tablet.
