You're running out of time to save Etheria from the Evil Horde. The acclaimed animated series She-Ra and the Princesses of Power is set to leave Netflix in the new year, despite being a Netflix Original. You've got until February 21, 2026, to watch it before it disappears into the Fright Zone; so far, no other streamer has been announced as its new home.

The series is a reboot of the 1985 animated series She-Ra: Princess of Power, which was itself a spin-off of He-Man and the Masters of the Universe; in that series, Princess Adora, She-Ra's alter ego, is the long-lost sister of Prince Adam, alias He-Man, who lives on Etheria, the sister planet to He-Man's homeworld Eternia. The two series crossed over frequently, and He-Man and She-Ra even starred in their own joint holiday special, in which arch-villain Skeletor is somehow overcome by the spirit of Christmas. She-Ra and the Princesses of Power drops the He-Man connection, letting the title heroine stand on her own, while reimagining her allies and villains for a new generation of viewers. The series was created by indie cartoonist and animator ND Stevenson (Nimona) for DreamWorks Animation.

What Is 'She-Ra and the Princesses of Power' About?

When the series opens, Adora (Aimee Carrerro) and the feline Catra (AJ Michalka) are a pair of up-and-coming soldiers in the Horde, the conquering army of the tyrannical Hordak (Keston John). However, when Adora finds a mystical sword that transforms her into the mighty She-Ra, Princess of Power, she falls in with a rebellion that's rising up against Hordak's rule. With her friends Glimmer (Karen Fukuhara) and Bow (Marcus Scribner), Adora does her best to fulfill her destiny...even if it means betraying the love she feels for Catra. As the series progresses, She-Ra forms a coalition of princesses from across Etheria to face down Hordak and his master, the terrifying Horde Prime, while her relationship with Catra remains complicated. The series also features the voice talents of Lauren Ash, Sandra Oh, Geena Davis, Lorraine Toussaint, and Genesis Rodriguez.

She-Ra and the Princesses of Power ran for five seasons and 52 episodes between 2017 and 2020. It was the first animated series based on the Masters of the Universe franchise in fifteen years, and was swiftly followed up by two new He-Man animated series and an upcoming live-action movie.

She-Ra and the Princesses of Power is streaming on Netflix until February 21, 2026. Stay tuned to Collider for future updates.
