The veteran quarterback made NFL history on Saturday night after leading his team to a 29-18 victory over the Washington Commanders.

Hurts made the playoffs for the fourth time in a row, and did it with a new offensive coordinator each time. He is the first quarterback to accomplish that feat in the history of the league.

While Hurts’ latest historic accomplishment is from a four-year timeline, his list of changes goes way back to his time at Alabama.

It started with Lane Kiffin in 2016, when Hurts played for the Crimson Tide. In 2017, Hurts would play for former New York Giants head coach Brian Daboll.

When Hurts moved to Oklahoma to become the Sooners’ starting quarterback, he linked with Lincoln Riley. Then, Hurts landed in the NFL as a second-round pick for the Eagles. At the time, Doug Pederson was the head coach, who served as the play-caller.

The Eagles made a major change by swapping out Pederson for the current head coach, Nick Sirianni. At first, Siriani called the plays, but Shane Steichen took over that role in 2022. After Steichen landed a promotion outside of the organization, Brian Johnson took over in 2023.

Last season, the Eagles brought in former NFL quarterback Kellen Moore to call plays for Hurts. The Eagles went on a second Super Bowl run during the Hurts era and came away with the victory that time around. As expected, Philadelphia’s success led to a head coaching job being offered to Moore.

This year, Hurts has played under Kevin Patullo. Although the Eagles have struggled offensively, they were able to clinch another spot in the playoffs by winning the NFC East for the second season in a row on Saturday.

Hurts completed 22 of his 30 passes for 185 yards and two touchdowns. He also rushed seven times for 40 yards.

Next month, Hurts will compete in his fifth-straight playoff run.
