On both Wednesday and Thursday's availability report for the Oregon Ducks, wide receiver Evan Stewart was listed as "questionable," leading to hope that he could suit up for the first time this season after suffering a torn patellar tendon in early June.
But he's now been downgraded to "doubtful" in Friday's injury report, making it unlikely that he'll play in the No. 5 Ducks' first round College Football Playoff matchup against the No. 12 James Madison Dukes.
AdvertisementAdvertisementAdvertisementThere was initial reports in October that he could return for the end of the regular season against the Minnesota Golden Gophers or USC Trojans, but he remained sidelined and listed as out. His presence at Monday's practice was a pleasant sight, once again inspiring belief that he could play against James Madison.
There is still a chance, as the doubtful designation gives him the possibility of playing as opposed to being designated as out, but the chances appear slim.
Both of the other Duck wide receivers who had been listed as questionable on Wednesday and Thursday, Dakorien Moore and Gary Bryant Jr., remain questionable.
