LRG female directors L-R Donna Wright-Genna Handford-Wendy de Swart-Justine EdmondsProperty services group, LRG, has announced the promotion of four female colleagues to director-level positions. The appointments happily coincided with International Women’s Day, this year.

The appointments span customer experience, lettings operations and build-to-rent – and each of the four has built her career within LRG.

The four new directors bring decades of combined service at LRG. Donna Wright FARLA FNAEA (top left), who has been with the group for 36 years, takes on the role of Director of Customer Support and Engagement, having worked her way from branch manager through compliance and quality.

Wendy De Swart (bottom left), MARLA qualified and approaching 32 years at LRG, steps up from Head of Process and Implementation to Director of Lettings Implementation. Genna Handford (top right), who joined the business in 2018, steps up from Head of Lettings Support Centre to Director of Lettings Support Centres.

And Justine Edmonds (bottom right), who was instrumental in establishing LRG Living Markets, moves from Head of Build to Rent to Director of Build to Rent, bringing more than two decades of property experience.

Positive pattern

The promotions are the latest in a pattern at LRG: women now make up 60% of the group’s workforce, the executive board is 36% female and, since 2019, the gender pay gap has narrowed from 43.59% to 26.40%.

Much of the groundwork sits with EmpowerHER, LRG’s internal programme launched in 2024 to support women across the business through mentoring, roundtable events and professional development. In under two years, it has engaged more than 400 women across seven roundtable sessions.

Hannah Cooper, Chief People Officer at LRG, said: “These promotions aren’t about ticking a box. Donna, Wendy, Genna and Justine have each earned their place at director level through years of hard work and deep expertise.

“What I’m proud of is that LRG is a business where that work gets recognised. Programmes like EmpowerHER play a part in that, but ultimately it comes down to a culture where leadership backs its people, and the door is genuinely open.”
