Will the uncertainty of Jayson Tatum returning to the Boston Celtics affect what they do at the 2026 NBA trade deadline? Recent reports have suggested that the St. Louis native might not return to play for the Celtics in the 2025-26 NBA regular season after all. And his own words on a podcast appearance last month certainly did not dispel the possibility that Tatum might end up waiting until the start of the 2026-27 regular season to return from the Achilles tendon injury he sustained in the 2025 NBA Eastern Conference Semifinals.

The hosts of the "Still Poddable" podcast, Brian Robb, Sam Packard, and Jay King, took some time on a recent episode of their show to talk over whether they believe that the Duke alum really might not play for Boston this season – and more importantly, whether that possibility could affect what the Celtics do at the trade deadline.
